In this 1909 St. Anthony Park home, we transformed an underused three-season porch into a bright, four-season Craftsman-style sunroom.While their main floor felt dark due to smaller rooms and limited windows, they wanted the porch to become a sun-filled retreat, connected to the outdoors but sheltered from the elements—a peaceful space to escape the daily bustle of family life.

Previously, the porch doorway led to a unused patio tucked away in a corner of the yard. By reorienting the access point, we created a better connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces, making the patio more inviting and functional for daily use.

Maintaining the Craftsman character of the home was crucial in this remodel. The rest of the house features stucco, while the old porch had siding that didn’t match the overall aesthetic. By replacing the porch siding with bevel siding and adding classic Craftsman details like exposed rafter tails and intricate trim work, we honored the architectural integrity of the home.
